Bookings

Every booking is governed by the Savoy Venue rental agreement you review and sign before paying. Online requests are not confirmed until we approve them and payment is received. Prices, deposits, the refundable damage deposit, card processing fees and the cancellation policy are shown on your quote and in the agreement.

Private events only

Savoy Venue hosts private events only.

A private event is one where the guest who books invites every person who attends, directly: by text, call, email or a personal invitation, and knows who is coming. For example: birthday parties, baby and bridal showers, engagement parties, wedding receptions, anniversaries, family gatherings, a company party, meeting or training for your own team, clients or partners, or a photo or video shoot with your own crew. Plus ones you know about are fine. Friends may share the cost among themselves, but the person who books pays Savoy Venue for the booking; we do not take separate payments from each friend. Posting photos during or after the event is fine, as long as the post does not invite people or share how to get in.

A public event is any event that people the guest did not personally invite can find out about and attend, or that makes money at the door or inside. These are not allowed:

• Posted where the public can see it: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or X posts and stories, event sites (such as Eventbrite, Meetup or public Partiful links), flyers, "link in bio", "DM for the address", or group chats anyone can join or forward
• Promoted by a promoter, DJ, influencer or anyone else to their followers
• Tickets, an entry fee, cover or door charge, a "donation" at the door, or a paid RSVP
• Anything sold at the event: drinks, drink tickets, a cash bar, a tip jar for drinks, food, merchandise or bottle service
• Club nights, day parties, brunch parties, concerts, open mics, pop up shops, and paid classes or fundraisers, when they are open to the public

It still counts as public if the post was made by mistake, deleted later, posted by one of the guest's invitees, their DJ or anyone helping with the event, or if the post called it a "private party".

If we find out an event is public, we will shut it down, even in the middle of the event: before the event we cancel it, and during the event we end it right away and all guests must leave. Either way, no money is refunded, except the damage deposit, which is returned if there is no damage, and the guest is responsible for any fines or costs.

SMS Terms and Conditions

1. Program name: Savoy Venue Booking Notifications.
2. Program description: Savoy Venue sends text messages to people who contact us or request a booking: replies to inquiries, booking request confirmations, approval and payment notices, payment reminders, and event day details. We do not send marketing messages.
3. How to opt in: check the optional text message box on the inquiry form at savoyvenue.com, or text us first at 202-839-9905. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of booking or purchase.
4. Opt out: you can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to 202-839-9905. After you send "STOP", we will send you one message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no more messages from us. To join again, text "START".
5. Help: if you have trouble with the messaging program, reply with the keyword "HELP" for more assistance, or contact us at 202-839-9905 or [email protected].
6. Carrier liability: carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7. Rates and frequency: message and data rates may apply for messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies, usually a few messages per inquiry or booking. For questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.
8. Privacy: for privacy related questions, please see our privacy policy. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
